“Fasting for Peace" in Palestine

American Muslim Voice Foundation (AMV) and SEMAH Inc. hosted "Fasting for Peace" in Palestine on Tuesday, July 15 in Palo Alto CA. The day was a Jewish fasting day (17th of Tammuz). 

Yasmin Vania, board member of the South Bay Islamic Association was MC of the event.

Miss Imaan Syed recited the Quran. Shafath Syed, Former President of the South Bay Islamic Association, presented translation of the Quran.

Rabbi Shelly Lewis, Author the Torah of Reconciliation, offered Jewish prayer.

Eileen Altman, Associate Minister at First Congressional Church of Palo Aalto offered Christian sermon.

Diane Fisher, Director Jewish Community Relations Council, stressed the need of peace for all.

Samina Sundas, Founder of AMV Foundation, welcomed the guests and said  quest for peace begins with a dialog and by getting to know each other. "It is in that spirit we are opening our hearts and homes to all peace makers and community builders."

After the breakfast, at sunset, dinner was served.
